Estate Planning for Every Woman: Wills, Trusts & Planned Giving

We extend our sincerest gratitude to the dozens of Stowe and Central Vermont community members who came together to connect and take steps toward planning for their futures. The concept for this event began with long-time friends of the Women’s Fund and one of our founding members, Wendelyn Duquette. It grew into a collaboration with Mary Stiles and the team at St. John’s in the Mountains and the Vermont Community Foundation’s philanthropy team.

Empowerment to Make a Lasting Impact

We believe that conversations around planned giving are incredibly valuable, empowering us all to make a lasting impact on the causes and communities we care about deeply. Many women+ need a boost to grow their confidence in estate planning and find clarity in their investing goals—both financial investing, care for those they leave a legacy to, and philanthropic impact.

Our expert panel guided the gathering through key topics, including wills, trusts, charitable giving, and how to ensure one’s legacy reflects one’s values. They also presented practical tools to protect assets while supporting important people and causes. Special thanks to our panelists who gave their time and expertise:

  • Emily Bush, Vermont Women’s Fund, Moderator
  • Emilye Pelow Corbett, Vermont Community Foundation
  • Mary Stiles-Hendler, UBS The Atlantic Capital Group
  • Julie Hoyt, Jarrett | Hoyt PLC

Our hosts at St. John’s in the Mountains added a special dimension to our gathering by surrounding us with beautiful, abstract art on display by Julie Purinton. They invite everyone to learn more about their community work at:

 Moving Forward

These estate planning events are becoming a summer tradition for the Women’s Fund and the Community Foundation. We are thrilled to work with community organizations and expert panelists to share valuable insights and real-world guidance with those just beginning an estate planning journey or those looking to refine existing plans.

Reach out to Vermont Women’s Fund Director Emily Bush if you would like to learn more about hosting an event like this or making a planned gift.
