Vermont Women's Fund Annual Celebration 2024 Recap
Thank you to those who attended this year's sold-out Annual Celebration event at the Flynn Center! It was such a special occasion to celebrate alongside you all both our 30th anniversary of the Women's Fund and welcome our new director, Emily Bush. The energy in the room was electric as we all shared in a moment of hope and connection. This year's event was made extra special thanks to a live musical performance by Vermont's own, Myra Flynn!
Once again, our rock star emcee, Jane Lindholm, showcased her interviewing skills with our keynote speaker, Stacey Abrams. Stacey Abrams is a political leader, business owner, and bestselling author. She served as Minority Leader of the Georgia House of Representatives and was the Democratic nominee for governor of Georgia in 2018 and 2022. She has launched multiple nonprofit organizations devoted to democracy protection, national and local voter engagement, tackling social issues, and building a more equitable future in the South. Stacey published her first children's book, Stacey Speaks Up, the third book in the #1 New York Times bestselling and NAACP Image Award–winning Stacey’s Stories picture book series, from Stacey Abrams and artist Kitt Thomas. Stacey's remarks reached a broader audience inspiring us all to be curious, solve problems, and do good.
We closed out the night with a wonderful reception hosted at Hotel Champlain, it was so fun to see our community connecting after such a vibrant event! Thanks to your generosity, this year's celebration raised over $35,000 dollars! Together with your support, we are building a brighter future for Vermont women and girls to rise and thrive!
